Noisy 4 way mod
« on: December 18, 2014, 04:54:01 PM »
Hi guys. Quick question:

I got 2 BKP tele pickups a while back, and I experience a kind of noise with the 4way mod, in positions 1 and 4   (bridge-only and bridge-neck series).  Positions 2 and 3 are great, but I get a lot of noise in the others.    I remade the solder joints without any luck.  Can this be attributed to a faulty wiring? Perhaps a swap of certain wires?

4-way done according to the schematic from BKP on the site.

How is the middle (neck+bridge parallel) position ? But anyway: if you only have noise in positions using the bridge, then your problem is either with the bridge pickup wiring or the bridge pickup itself. You can try and wire the bridge pu directly to the output jack to find out.

That's the thing, bridge+neck parallel, and neck only, are working as expected.  Using only the bridge, or bridge+neck series, are pretty noisy.

I guess wiring it to the jack is the fastest way to know. Will try when I get the chance!
