The two rails of the Cobra suggest it could be the hottest SC though. Which might be a better match to some of the higher output pups.

Holy Diver - Charvel
Mule - Les Paul

VHII - PRS CU22
Emerald - Les Paul

is it a high output single-coil-size humbucker OR a true single coil?

I think it is a single coil type, but you are looking for a neck and it might be the best option that BKP do in that department.
Although, you could check under the pickguard to see if there is a humbucker cavity at the neck. If there is, then that changes the situation and you could think of putting in a humbucker in the neck.

nope, guitar has only a sigle-coil-size hole for pick up (no pickguard) and there are "straight walls" so I can't put even pick up with trapezoidal basement, so only EMG/duncan sized single coil...
I really don't wanna be forced to put SD Hot Rails, but I need humbucker sound and high output to well balance with Holy Diver bridge

I just would wait till the release of the Cobra, but I guess a Sinner-neck is not a bad alternative.

BKP might make you a SC in the EMG SC shape that will fit.

Email them, they will probably have a solution.

IIRC Tim said sometime this month. So could be in 3 weeks or days.

Any other info on the new Cobra pickups? Are they on the hot/vintage or contemporary side? I heard the soundclips and they sound nice. Thanks

Nothing too sure really, but since the design corresponds with the Blackhawk it is somewhat fair to say that they should be on the contemporary side of things, but more in a modern focus way so that they can still do older stuff nicely. It is suspected that they will do a similar thing to the EMG single coils, so they might be great for Gilmour stuff among others, and since they are BKP they likely will be very versatile. Most of this is educated guesswork at this time though.

We can really just wait till Tim throws us a bone or the entire steak.

Just played the strat today & it does sound good. The dimarzio D-activator bridge really screams & great for leads. Dive bombs & Dimebag whammys are just effortless. Now for the waiting game on those Cobras for the neck. Hehe

They are here https://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/main/pickups.php?cat=strats&sub=contemporary&pickup=cobra
Nicely spotted mate!

I like their sound, though there is a high end sizzle that I am not 100% about right now, but then again that is something all modern ceramic PUs have. Was surprised how nice it could sound for the slow blues, had something going there. Nollys playing is nice as ever too, especially first solo on modern metal. =)
