Juggernaut or holy diver?
« on: January 05, 2015, 06:12:26 AM »
Was able to score a late 90s ibanez rg. It's plain basswood bolt on maple neck with rosewood board. Cheap "wanna be" floyd with stock pick ups. I'm hauling this thing over with a legit floyd with brass block, new tuners and of course a sweet set of BKPs!  :afro:
So, juggernaut or holy divers? I want power, balls, and fantastic leads and I feel these two pick ups will best fit the guitar since it's basswood with maple. The natural sound of the guitar is even with a tad bit of snap. I play in standard tuning and play mostly shred and metal. I utilize cleans a lot when creating backing tracks so the pick up must be good with cleans. Doesn't have to be amazing like the mules but good.

I would say the Juggset would have better cleans than the HD, if that is your priority
BKP: Abraxas - Les Paul
Holy Diver - Charvel
Mule - Les Paul
Rebel Yell - Les Paul
VHII - PRS CU22
Emerald - Les Paul
Warpig - Caparison Horus

It's not my priority but its something I need in addition to everything else. (Power, balls, etc.)

Hello

Although the Holydivers are a great choice for that guitar and tone you're describing, the Juggernauts will give you more versatility and will give you smoother cleans as you mentioned.

Installing the Juggernaut today.. I will be posting a review later after I mess with them. I plan on making video reviews soon. I only have my iPhone to record as of now. I'm just getting into the recording aspect of everything and learning how to make it sound as organic as plug-in-play. Stay tuned for the review and any tips on recording or tutorials would be helpful. Thanks. As always, keep it evil
