I purchased a juggernaut bridge, finally. I installed it in my McNaught guitar. Alder body, maple neck and board, string through body bridge, 25.5" scale, Bolt-on construction, Sperzel locking tuners, standard tuning, 09-42 Strings, through an EVH 5150III 50 watt hooked up to 2x12 with v30's then a blend of V30 and Celestion cream back 75 H in the same cab. My second 2x12 is loaded with a Hellatone 30 and celestion cream back 65 M. Both cabs are Wired in parallel, each making an 8ohm load. Im plugged Directly into the amp with an EP booster in the fx loop. Not really a distorted boost but a tonal boost. Amazing little pedal. Anywho, Back to the juggernaut.
I originally had a black hawk replace the dimarzio tone zone. The black hawk sounded great but I have been Wanting to try the juggernaut for a while now.
Clean channel: the best bridge pick up with cleans i have come across. Just as good as the mule bridge but a diferent voicing. Bass, middle and treble were all on noon. Presence at 11 o'clock. I Didnt even do any EQ adjustment..it sounded that good from the Start. Every thing was so full AND rich with musical complexity. The only difference in sound between the cabs was the V30s had plenty of "spank" where the other combos were not as spanky. For some reason the v30's had a beautiful chime that I never heard until this pick up was installed. It really sounded like an alnico speaker chime. Needless to say I spent almost an hour on this channel in total bliss.
Channel two/blue channel: i had to back off of the bass on this channel because the low end got a little too boomy. This pick up hits hard in the bass side which took me by surprise because I only ever had to back off the bass when I use my warpig equipped guitar. This sounded nice, fat and felt spongy. Think George lynchs fat mid range attack. I usually never play on this channel but I was really digging the 80s metal shred tone that I was able to get. My cab with the cream back M and hellatone 30 ruled this one. It sounded just like lynch but without the loose bottom end.
Channel 3/red channel: the juggernaut took out half of the noise/hiss that comes with this channel. I thought i had a wiring issue for moment but was reminded by a previous conversation with Ben French that the juggernaut handles amp hiss well and actually cuts some out. The bass was set to noon, mid to 11 o'clock, treble to 10:30' presence to 11 o'clock and gain to 11 o'clock. This kicked out some serious low mid and bass response but it was oh so tight at the same time. All cab combos sounded fantastic but the cream back 75 H and v30 was the favorite. Pick attack was very sensitive on this channel. The harder I dug the more grit I got which led me to back off of the gain because I pick fairly hard and I use metal picks and thicker plectrums...My strings hate me. The high end on this channel was still present but now fuller and not drowned out. A very musical high end. Reminded me a bit of Andy Timmons on resolutions "deliver us". The growl this pick up produced with chords was SICK! It's like the more mature version of the warpig and not as in your face but still is...hard to explain. I still love the warpig and it still sits on its evil throne. The clarity was great just like every other BKP but not as clear as the mule...but it didn't bother me because it wasn't that severe.
My favorite thing about the juggernaut is the feel and the unique sound of alnico and ceramic combination. It's so reactive and responsive to the most mynute change in your fingers and picking technique. The dynamics are just as good as the mule which IMO is the best dynamic pick up BKP has to offer. Also, it lets your plectrum material really shine through which I love because IMO pick material has a pretty big impact on sound.
This pick up instantly became a favortie of mine and is staying.
