HSH Cobra w Blackhawks?
« on: January 28, 2015, 05:17:06 AM »
Already have a HD/Emerald combo in one ibanez, and looking far a contrasting sound. I have a second RG currently with the Dimarzio LF/CL combo and a shitety stock single coil. Was thinking about going for Alnico blackhawks with a cobra single. Good match? I take it the cobra was designed to compliment Blackhawks, or would a Trilogy or Sinner be better?  Personally, just aesthetically, I'd prefer the cobra unless the others had a huge advantage over it.

I've read the warmer Alnico bridge goes better with basswood guitars, any thoughts on that?  Still want warmth, but a more modern sound than the HD/Emerald.

Thoughts?

I can tell you that the sinner does go well with the black hawk.  I'd have a punt on the cobra though......they would look very cool
