They are ok but I tend to prefer a regular tone control
I dont get why you would need to make it brighter as well as duller
Just dial in the right sound to start with for the bright tone

Personal preference I guess

I have one on both my Strats - I find it useful for Tele type tones.

guess..mmm am unsure already have hum/single/parallel switch.....was thinking maybe the tbx as well.....maybe just a mod too far *L*
