H/S/S Guitar With 500k Pots?
« on: March 01, 2015, 03:56:29 AM »
I have a Holydiver in a Jap Strat with stock neck and middle single coils. I have 500k post in there because the bridge is where i am most of the time. I am putting in a pair of Trilogy Suites in the neck and middle soon and i was wondering how the two single coils will sound with the 500k pots?

I fear they will be a bit a little bright. I like my single coils with 250k pots.

I don't mind the SC being brighter than normal, it is a all out 'Rock' guitar after all, but if they are very close to the HD then there is a problem.

Just try it with 500k. It doesn't make a world of difference and the TS is quite a bit darker than a vintage(hot)singelcoil, so that might balance things.

Yes, well i have the HD in already with 500k pots, so if you say the TS singles are a bit darker than most, then there should be a nice balance.

The TS is somewhere between a trad. single coil and a P90.
