I'm guessing it would be great for a lot of hardcore stuff.
Converge, Dillinger Escape Plan, all of that stuff I think it would do well. I've heard some clips online in which it is more versatile than you might expect. It does have a certain dryness and honk though that make it unsuitable for many styles. It is an aggressive pickup. If you wouldn't use a Painkiller for that application I would steer clear of the Aftermath too. They are not the same but they are equally aggressive IMHO
