NGD + NPD

Just received a small gift to my self!

Picked up a Shell Pink Squier STrat: nothing special, but quality is decent. Will be replacing the pickups and pots soon...looking at Irish tours! The guitar plays very well, just needed a fret dress to make it more comfortable. Stays in tune surprisingly well, that being said i dont use the trem at all.

Also I got my self a Earthquaker White Light overdrive, and this is a great sounding pedal. Low-mid gain with a focus on high mids, but has a huge range of tones for a three knob od.
All I want to be is normally insane.

Yeah, let's do some Barbie-metal!

Just kiddin mate, congrats! On strats I like Shell Pink and all the other pastelcolours from the late fifties like Surf Green, Daphne Blue etc.
I just wonder how good that Squier is to BKP it, maybe it is, you tell me.

Earthquaker makes some nice pedals. Isn't the White Light their take on the MXR Distortion+?

This particular squier actually has a very nice timbre to the tone and sounds good when tapped. It has an alder body, but the neck is a bit narrow for may hands. Thinking a Warmoth order is due as well. I only paid $50 us for the squier. I am actually pleasantly surprised with it, must have got a good one. I played several squiers before picking this one. The rest were not nearly as good. It was intonated well and all had to do was dress a couple of the frets that were a little rough, but other than that this little squier is very nice. I mainly picked it up as a beat around guitar, but i can see myslef playing it a fair bit.

Yes the white light is earthquakers take on the dod 250 and mxr distortion +. It is a Great pedal and i see myself just leaving it on all the time. All settings on the pedal are usable. But, i like it best with lower gain. It really fills in a gap in my rig, my Jim root terror actually has good cleans and really nice heavy drive, but was somewhat lacking in the mid gain and crunch tones. This pedal gives me a very nice blues/country/rock drive that ive been missing. Highly recommend it!

The fretboard is pretty dark and looks nice, but I see your point. Playingcomfort comes first. The board on my MXG-strat is a bit wider than on my Am. Series. I also prefer that. The the 12 inch radius makes it easier to play fast solo's. The Fender has the obvious 9.5 and your Squier probably too.

Nevertheless, you gonna spend quite some money on the pinkie. A replacement-neck and a set of BKP's outvalues the guitar by far. Hope it's worth all the upgrades.

I listened a vid of the White Light overdrive. Sounds on YT (to my ears) better than the MXR or DOD.

I'm also impressed by Amptweakers pedals, especially the Tight Drive Pro. They have tons of smart features, dipswitches on top to tailor the sound, and even a loop for b.e. a delay. Great stuff. I might get me the Tight Drive Pro.

I was actually planning a complete Warmoth build and a alder strat body with shell pink paint would run four times the cost what I paid for the squier. I realize the squire is using inferior quality alder, but this example seems to have pretty nice piece of alder on it. I already dis assembled it once to get a peek at the body wood.

This guitar is just a bit of a project.

I love Earthquaker Devices, great stuff!

Does the White Light do Rhandy Rhoads sounds as well like the yellow MXR?
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

It does sound great for Rhandy rhoads! This pedal excels at pushing a already crunchy amp.
