So what would you guys put in an Esquire for hard rock and blues and can handle having a lot of high gain thrown at it.
Preferably would prefer a true single coil, quite like the sound of some of the bare knuckle range like the black guard flat 50 and 52, yardbird, brown sugar I've got a piledriver in my tele and although it can handle a lot of gain I do think it can sound a little thin and to compressed.
I'm not against things like the lil 59 and tele pearly gate, but if I went that route I think maybe a BG1400 as I have heard they are good for esquires.
So a pup that can handle lots of gain when needed, not to compressed more open and warm sounding and still has some twang and honk when cleaned up.
