Hi all,
Looking for some advice/comments before pushing the button on a BKP set for my Telecaster project.
The guitar is a Telecaster Classic player 60's Baja. It has an Alder body, maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard.
The stock pups are Broadcaster bridge and Twisted Tele neck with 4 way switching, and what Fender describe as
S1 switching (in the top of the volume pot). I have discovered that this doesn't work the same as the S1 switching
in my American Deluxe Stratocaster. It works in position 2 and 4 on the 4way selector switch, and puts the PUPs
out of phase, in either series or parallel.
I am fitting a Hipshot 6 saddle (stainless steel) Vintage replacement bridge to replace the 3 Brass saddle original
Fender Vintage bridge and a set of Hipshot Vintage closed Locking tuners to replace the Fender vintage set.
All this to improve tuning stability.
I have studied specs and listened to examples of BKP Tele PUPs on the net, and have narrowed down my choice to either
a flat 52 set or a Brown Sugar set.
I am hoping to use this guitar for mainly playing Blues and some Jazz/Jazz rock fusion.
Does any one have any comments on my choice of PUPs, that will help me make the final decision please ?
Kind regards
Fred
