Are you OK mate? You sound understandably shook up.

Was he stopped or did you bolt?

That's the type of situation we all fear.. random violence. There is no excuse and I wouldn’t attempt to reason it out in your own mind if I were you as you’re best putting the whole damn thing in the past.

Thankfully at least you are well enough to be angry so you can live to play another day.

Get right back out and do something fun today.

Good luck

I hope ypou are OK Willo. It is indeed a strange world fortunately inhabited my decent people though we all have the misfortune to bump into the crazed idiots from time to time. My son was randomly beaten up in November 2004.Physically he recovered quickly but  underneath I did not realise how much it had affected his confidence. Afghan Dave's addvice is good- go out and have fun. The good far outweighs the bad in this world.

Wow what a tit. Sounds like the chavs round here, me and my mates just hang around talking in town at lunchtime and they walk past shouting "You startin dickhead?!" etc, even when we're not looking in their direction :? I dunno.. never got into a fight with em though so I guess thats good. Hopefully you're ok though.

Hey chaps, thanks for the kind words (beatle, I'm sorry to hear about your son)

well, interestingly, the guy wasn't a chav. He had some kind of full length leather coat on, I think he was going all Matrix on my ass!

I dunno man, it just makes me so mad. Because you always think that if you keep your head down you'll be OK. You don't remember that there are obviously dickheads who are so socially maladjusted that they take their anger out on anyone and everyone. It could of been worse, if I'd been on my own I think I would have taken a right beating.

I just don't understand people who do that kind of thing

Yeah the chav virus seems to be spreading to other sections of society. Yesterday i got attacked by a homeless person for being a fag wen i asked if i could borrow his dingy.
And the other day my friend got knocked down by some emo-core body builder-types :? (posers) completely unprovoked. I couldnt stop laffing at their patheticness and they chased me hard for ages - luckily i went a route where yu jumped from this roof down onto this pole, which is shite scary and they couldnt do (not had the practice super-indy has). so i got away

Just when I thought those things only happen in in the Netherlands. Overhere they'll beat you up because someone thinks you're not walking right. And it's rarely one person, it's always a group.

I live in a small village (pop. aprox. 180) with one bar/disco wich is visited by people from a 10 mile radius. Even here there are random acts of violence on an almost regular basis. Even for a local it isn't safe to walk the streets alone around closing time. It's f#$%ing rediculous!

Some people just can't stand alcohol and turn agressive, however, in most cases, it also involves drugs like XTC, speed or worse.

Ever seen someone's eyes when he's high on that stuff? Scares the sh!t outta me.

Sorry to hear about that Willo. I hope your ok. Don't let the prick get you down though like Mr 38th & Afghan Dave said, do something that makes you happy. The thing is, being a bloke this sort of thing happens from time to time when your on a night out. Some idiots just take a dislike to you for no reason and then your in a situation that we could all do without.

I was at a party when I was around 23-4 and 3 idiots just piled into me and another 3 or 4 into my mate-for no reason. It was the first time i took a kicking and last but it got really scary. The thing is, my adrenalin went through the roof and I managed to get up and fight back as they were only kicking me with trainers. I managed to stick two full on right handers on two of them and then it finished. I wouldn't recommend that now with all the knives that are routinely carried around, but I felt a whole lot better!

Hey, cheers guys.

Yeah, I've calmed down now! The whole story is this:

We were walking back from a club through this little quiet route, took a bit of a detour. It's a nice area, though. And I saw this guy, and you know, I love a bit of the drunken banter! So I chirped up, 'Alright, squire?', you know, having a bit of 'how's the weather'. So he pins me against this wall, grabs me around the throat...And he's going' Do you know what's behind that wall?', I replied: 'The cemetery?' and that's where he informs me I'd be ending up. After this went on for a good few minutes, he takes a step back into the middle of the road, removes his jacket and says:

'You boys got any weapons?'

Er...pretty scared at this stage! Eventually we managed to talk him down and he $%&#ed off. True to form, as he was walking away we shouted 'You tw@t!' and pegged it   It's good to see that even in the most scary situation we managed to still be ridiculous!

Having said that, though, it was pretty scary. I've never really taken a beating in my life and I do try and avoid it, I'm a bit of a pacifist! But, you know, I guess one day I will get that beating I've been trying to avoid, it's just a bit scary when it's so random!

Just got back from town, reported it to the police and that. Not so much because of what happened to me - although, technically it's classed as 'common assault' - but more because he was giving us loads of grief for being students, and it was on one of the main student routes home, so I was a bit worried for other people if you get nutters like that out and about!

Thanks for the kind words guys, group hug?
