Warpigs in an SG??

Put some juggs into my sg and they're awesome BUT not 'the sound' I'm looking for in my current band.  I'm loving the black hawks in my les paul and the sg isn't sounding as thick....I know this is natural due to the construction of  the guitars but I want to close the gap.

You'd think this would be a no brainer but i'm wondering how they'd work in reality.  I'm looking to really fatten up the low end of my Gibson SG and get a Black Sabbath / Mastodon sound in the bridge but i'm wondering whether to go alnico or ceramic.  I think i'd prefer alnico but in practise I don't know if ceramic might work better for some reason??

I'm looking to put a mule of cold sweat in the neck for cleans and leads.  I really want to put a mule with it and again my gut says to go for the mule but would a little more output be necessary i.e the cold sweat to go with the warping?  I'd be able to contrast with neck and bridge with different channels so i can't see this being a problem??

I've got a Warpig set in my SG Special.

Fantastic roar and thick mids from the A-Pig in an SG.  I would recommend the alnico version if you want Sabbath tones.

I would go so far as to say that the SG is the perfect guitar for the A-Pig.  I tried it in my Explorer and didn't like it there, but in an SG it is wonderful.

I also found that the cleans improved from the neck when I went to a brighter guitar.  I would happily recommend the set, but I am looking at a custom harness with the following features:

500K volume pots
500K push-push tone pots
series/parallel on neck
coil split on bridge

I haven't decided on caps or whether to go modern or '50s style yet

The series/parallel switch will enable the output to be cut when need be, but still leave me with the hot neck pickup for metal lead playing when I want it.  Coil split in the bridge will give single-coil sounds when I want them

Sounds interesting.  I've recently learnt to swap out my own pups but i'm not into any other wiring options as of yet.  I'll get there one day!

I've heard people get allsorts of tones out of the warpigs.  Alnico's seemed like the obvious bet for what I want but I wondered if they'd have too much mids.....  obviously not any way just wanted to be on  safe side

A mule neck in a les paul is perfection to me for cleans and leads but I dunno how it would sound in an sg.  In any case i've bought a cold sweat neck because i've got a second hand one and it might balance out better in an sg than a mule any way.

This was my gut feeling combo to begin with but I was advised otherwise.  I dont mind any way I like trying all the different models.

I have a Cold Sweat set in my SG Standard.  Both pickups work well in an SG.  Not sure how it would match up with an A-Pig, but I am assuming it will be fine.

I get a professional to make my harnesses, so it's not that hard!  Should costs me around $130 including everything, Switchcraft selector switch and jack, CTS pots, nice caps, etc.  Without the push-push pots it would probably be $20 less
