Death of a Legend
« on: May 15, 2015, 08:03:36 AM »
No idea where this should go but just felt moved to post somewhere how sad I am today to learn of the death of BB King. He's the guitarist who first got me listening to the Blues, he was the one I studied closely when trying to learn vibrato and he was the one who first made me realise as a young player that cramming a million notes into a bar didn't make you a good player - sometimes less really is more. I doubt we'll ever see the likes of BB King again but I am grateful that I was able to discover his music that has given me so much pleasure over the years.
BKP owned:

Bridge - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; A-Bomb; Holydiver; Miracle Man; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

Neck - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; Holydiver; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

I am deeply saddened. He was one of my two guides into the blues. Today IŽll have to get out my Sofia (a Lucille) and just let it out. Maybe I will hit a note half as good as his sloppiest.
BKPs in use: 10th set / RY set / Holy Diver b, Emerald n / Crawler bridge, Slowhand mid MQ neck/ Manhattan n
On the sidelines: Stockholm b / Suppermassive n, Mule n, AM set, IT mid

Very sad, I was kind of expecting it but nevertheless it is hard to take in that he has gone.

Great singer too. Guitar or voice, he always played like he meant it.
