Nux AS-4 amp simulator - not that good
« on: June 06, 2015, 07:10:09 PM »
So I had a NPD, but it's not that great in the end.

Anyway, I can hardly complain since this item cost 20 quid, and sounds ok. In fact, at 20 quid, this pedal is well worth it!

But compared to my SansAmp gear, it doesn't cut it. Too much low end, bit harsh highs, boxy mids.

The missus can hear the difference too, so it's not just my 'developed' ears ;)

So, if you really have just 20 quid and need an amp simulator you can certainly make it work, but in the grand scheme of things it's a bit second tier. Sounds a bit like a pedal costing 50quid.

you wouldn't use the meat knife on crusty bread but, equally, the serrated knife and straight edge knife aren't going to go through raw meat as quickly
