My VH2 reads a little low on the DC Resistance

Just received my first order of a Mule set and a VH2 bridge.

The Mules are exactly as spec'd on the official site but the VH2 reads a little low at 8.1k (instead of 8.9k) - and that's the scribbled DC resistance that the guys at BKP measured.
Now, I'm not complaining - just thought it is strange.

Does that mean it has less "turns" and will be brighter than standard? Less juiciness and drive?
Or does it not really matter?

Temperature can indeed affect the DC reading - the higher the temperature, the higher the reading. However, 8.1k compared to 8.9k as the quoted spec is a bit drastic - unless you took the measurement in the refrigerator. Could it be that you got a neck model instead of a bridge model?

OK - does indeed not look like it.

If BKP used the same wire gauge that could indeed mean less turns which could result in less drive and output. Another possible explanation would be that the wire was slightly thicker than the nominal gauge - then the pickup could have the specified turn count. 

BTW - did you measure yourself or did you just rely on what's written on the package?

The acid test is when it's in the guitar - if it sounds good to you DC resistance does not really matter.

I did just rely myself on what they wrote.

But I just shot BKP a quick question (how great is the new chat function!!!) and Ben confirmed that the "1" is in fact a "9" - it's just the handwriting - and was sorry for the confusion.
So all's good

It did look to me like a badly written 9 too!

I should have remembered that in English numerology, "1" is written as "I" and that the "1" is often misread as "7", so indeed that digit is not a "1".
