Fender&Bareknuckles.
« on: July 22, 2015, 06:13:06 PM »
I just purchased a Jim root Tele because i like everything about them other than the emgs. So I'm gonna yank them out and put in a new set. A Duncan custom custom popped in my head but I'm so partial to bareknuckles (all 4 if my guitars have them in them they're superior to my ears)
I play post hardcore/alternative/hardcore/pop punk/metalcore/rock.. I even dabble in blues sometimes.
will be playing playing music like the band a day to remember

Mixed with this band

What would be a good bridge pup for getting in between those two tones?( i also like circa survive , underoath and earmosa is my favorite band ever)
the Tele is mahogany with an ebony board.
give me some recommendations even if they're not bareknuckles.

the first reference would be  on the painkiller and aftermath tonepark
cleaning up with them is still possible with the volume pots or gain cuts

rebel yell if you wanna keep it versatile
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

Which would get me right in the middle of those two tones do you think? Maybe one of the nail bombs?would the Rebel yell be lacking bottom end?

nailbomb should sound pretty good, but it's a considerably darker tone
it works well for coheed and cambria's frontman gibson explorer, but I wouldn't pick it for a downtuned guitar

the rebel yell is certainly not a deep bass voiced pup like the nailbomb, but I don't think it should lack bass

Well I do t tune any lower than drop c usually. Would the Tele kind of be like a explorer in the sense that it's mahogany?it's got the ebony board as well.

I was thinking Rebel Yell too. Since you want more bottom: the Black Dog will do the chimey thing nice, sounds good downtuned and is tight enough for metal. Let the amp do the rest.
Als alternative: what about a HB-sized P90 like the Supermassive and the Stockholm? Tight, big sound, still that P90 chime.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

Black Hawks would be my inclination here.  Those or Painkillers
BLACK HAWKS
IMPULSES
COBRA-T
WAR PIGS
STOCKHOLM
COLD SWEATS
MIRACLE MAN
TRUE GRIT

Okay Ive narrowed it down to
painkillers
juggernaut
black dog
Nail bomb.
I like bands like underoath, emarosa, a day to rememeber, circa survive.
it will be going good in a mahogany Tele with an ebony board...I have a super massive already in a 72 deluxe

not really
unless it had at least a set mahog neck
I do think both alnico  might work well, and probably better than in an explorer
maybe even a holy diver, but I'd probably go with something brighter and more aggressive than that

I have a holydiver in a jag right now I may take out and out in if I don't decide on something else. But I like it in my jag alot!

So I like the cold sweats, black hawks and maybe the alnico nail bombs.(maybe painkillers)

I need something that's going to be versatile because the two links up there are completely different. I want it to be able to do amazing leads and still bring it with the rhythm as well.
Think jb with not as ice picky high/smooth buttery. With a fuller bottom end that will chug and do the 1st clip good. But can still jam the 2nd well. Nothing too "heavy"

well, you're describing the holy diver now
maybe you should give a try, and you can put it back on the jag if you don't like it
