I have no experience of the Black Hawks so I'll leave them.
The Holydiver is a pickup with plenty mids and the mids are pretty evenly spread. The result is a pickup that is smooth and articulate with a lovely organic tone. It works in most guitars but apparently not in an SG. There are tighter pickups out there but it certainly isn't loose. I don't think it absolutely nails the 80's Metal tone as it's a touch too modern for that in my view but it is very reminiscent of it so if you like things smooth, warm and middy with plenty articulation, this is a great choice.
The Nailbomb is very different, though I can only comment on the alnico version. It's more open sounding, hence the links with hot Blues and Classic Rock but it's also much tighter and far more aggressive sounding than the Holydiver with all those upper mids giving it the modern aggression. Where the Holydiver is smooth, the A-Bomb is angry and hairy. I REALLY didn't like it in my Jackson Soloist BUT, I think the problem was that I had it in the wrong guitar as maple neck-thru guitars tend to be a bit upper-middy anyway and the A-Bomb was too much. This is a great pickup in the right guitar and I am considering one for my Les Paul so if your mahogany Tele has enough meat to it, the A-Bomb could work well.
