Blackhawks in a strat?
« on: August 08, 2015, 08:37:01 PM »
Anyone out there have this set-up? Pretty much all the BH clips I have seen have  been in mahogany based metal machines so I can't help thinking that it might thicken up the bridge tone of my alder strat. Any thoughts?

A fender strat?
I had on in an alder ESP super strat once and it worked well but they got a bit more beef than a fender strat.
If you could say what kind of sound you're looking for it might help but it wouldn;t be a bad combination that's for sure.

The alnico version of the Black Hawk would certainly add some depth to an alder body bolt-on.

I'm in the process of building an Warmoth Alder body strat.  I bought blackhawks and a Cobra for an HSH setup.  The neck is roasted maple.  So the parts are fairly straight up strat woods.   I haven't received the shipping notice from BK yet.  I'll post back after I get it all put together.
