Here's my latest one.
http://alonetone.com/andyr/tracks/cold-7All the guitars are my Les Paul with Stormy Mondays. This time playing through a Vox Tonelab LE. I
think it was a "Marshall JTM45" kinda patch (I have two "go to" patches on my Tonelab, that one and an "AC30" patch) - but these were all quick "guide guitar" parts I laid down weeks ago that I intended to replace! So I can't really remember now.
I've been heavily into Led Zeppelin the last few months, what with the re-releases and all, and that's where the original idea (the riff at the start) and the thinking for guitar arrangements came from...
Had a lot of trouble with the intro, probably ought to have cut everything up until when the full band kicks in - but the sparse intro sounds HUGE when you turn it up loud on big speakers (less so on headphones etc at comfortable volumes) so the missus made me keep it. Anyway, seems to PLOD a bit to me - but give it 15 seconds or so and it does get going!

I do quite like the little instrumental verse in the middle. It was meant to have slide guitar harmony lines as a "lead", building up to the key change for last bridge/chorus, but I never got round to recording them properly. And then I found my foot tapping to the groove of that section during mixing etc, and it does show off how the LP and Stormies react to my playing - I can "hear how it felt to play", does that make sense? - so I just left that section as it is.
