Guess it'd be a cheaper way to fix this, but I'm curious to know what it'd do to the tone cos I like how my guitar is currently sounding.

Didn't you already try Graph Tech String Saver saddles on your Les Paul?

No I didn't, all I've done is file the saddles to get them smooth, and raise the height of the tailpiece. Haven't changed anything hardware-wise.

In terms of the sound I just adjusted the 2K up a bit on my 10-band EQ.  It did add extra 'harmonic content' (for want of something more precise) but it's hard to tell how much is due to the bridge itself, as the design is very different from the stopbar that was on there.  Just changing the saddles I am assuming the change would be more subtle.
