Mules/Abraxas in LP Standard with Ebony Fretboard?
« on: November 19, 2015, 02:13:58 PM »
Hey guys.

Just wondered if anyone here has ever tried Mules or Abraxas in a Les Paul Standard with Ebony fretboard before? If so, how did they differ to being in a Standard with the usual Rosewood fretboard?

Thanks.

Craig

Ebony has more snap/percussiveness, rosewood tends to soften the tone a bit. In general I would say Abraxas - ebony, Mule - rosewood. The Mule is more open, less output, the Abraxas had less topend, more mids and output, but still PAF-character.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

Thanks for the info.

Chances are my Mules will go into my Rosewood Fretboard R8 and then I'll either sell the Tremspaced Abraxas and get something else, or I may try them 1st. I can't decide.

Just try the tremspaced Abraxas, I wonder if there will much difference with the 50mm spacing.
