Favourite bridge BKps?
« on: November 27, 2015, 05:57:13 PM »
I know it's a pretty too general question, and it depends on styles you like, the sound of your amp, guitars, etc.. but I was curious. I only tried the Juggs (and soon will own a cbomb + coldsweat combo) but I like them quite a lot, but I guess some of you here have tried many of them. I'm sorry if there's already a poll like this here. Cheers!

Too difficult to pick just one. Off that list I like the Rebel Yell, Crawler, Cold Sweat and Holydiver. I am missing the Abraxas on that list, though.

Cheers Stephan

It depends on the guitar and the musicstyle. I'm missing the vintage(hot) pickups.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

Out of that list I've got the Cold Sweat, Nailbomb (A5), and Warpig (A5).

I voted for the Warpig.  I find it more versatile than the Nailbomb and has more bass and balls than the Cold Sweat.  The Nailbomb has a very specific sound about it that rules it out for some things, but then again it gives a hardcore type of sound that the others can't quite manage.  The Cold Sweat can do stuff that the Warpig is just too hot for.  All of them have their strong suit.

I voted for the Rebel Yell bridge pickup because it is awesome!  But the Juggernaut Bridge pickup is also awesome.

My favourite of the ones i have had/got isnt there, the Vhii neck.
I use from the list the Mm bridge and Cs neck combo as it in my favourite guitar  and i like thrash n shred most. But all that still depends on my mood as 6 months ago i pretty much played my hd vhii combo for all the same stuff.
Tho i like the crawler neck it is not in a guitar at the moment and i find it likes Eb tuning more than std anyway.
The ry Bridge was great! So rich. But its tight bottom didnt punch enough for my need.
Cbomb was great and i wish i never let go of it but i did get the mm in exchange which is also just as good.

So i cant decide ;)

The question was regarding bridge pickups only.

I'd have to say none of the pickups you have there.  I play blues and classic rock, so tend to go with the vintage sounds more.  While I do own many of the pickups you list, my favourite BK bridge pickup is an A5 Mule.  It is a really versatile pickup and can cover a myriad of styles.  I also really like the Emerald, VHII and Riff Raff for the music that I play.
So many pickups, so little time

It DO depends a lot on te music styles you like. I made the same question in other forum and the winner is the CBomb by far second by the Juggernaut.

Its hard to pick a favourite, but probably the Mule. I have an A5 version, which is my favourite variation on that pickup. It will literally do anything.

Then again, I also like the VH2, Riff Raff and Miracle Man.

Currently having a bit of a fling with the Aftermath which is really working for me at the moment.

I also I have Ceramic Warpig, Painkiller, Cold Sweat, a set of T-Top copies and Holy Diver. Of those, the Holy Diver particularly stands out to me. I should play it more really. Lovely tone.
