Orange Amps

Looking for a good Orange head for less than $800 for pop-punk such as The Story So Far, The Wonder Years and Neck Deep. Any suggestions? I am willing to go used. Also, the amount of channels doesn't really matter as I plan to purchase a volume pedal.

I have the Rockerverb 50 (6V6's). Great amp: nice chimey cleans and the four gainstages on the drivechannel go from light crunch, to SRV, to classic rock, to heavy rock and eventually metal, although the RV is not supertight. I like the Thunderverb too, which has an attenuator on board. The TH-serie has imo to much fizz on the drivechannel. The OR15 and the Dual Terror are good amps in a small package.

To a degree I would agree with you and I own a TH30 but it's not as bad as it initially appears. I changed the preamp valves to high quality TAD items and that improved the issue a great deal. It can still get fizzy the further you increase the gain but in all honesty, there's so much gain available you wouldn't need to take it that far unless you're into some really extreme sounds.

I use an AD30 head or a Dual Terror head at rehearsals and they're both great amps. They don't have that fuzzy drive that the older models have and which I hate. I'm seriously thinking about buying one or the other. These amps sound like Marshalls should but don't.
