Stormy Monday/Abraxas = Crawler set?
« on: January 14, 2016, 09:36:17 PM »
Just jamming on my ebony board SG with the crawler set. SO GOOD.

Looking for a new Les Paul build but with rather brighter woods (currently padouk body, walnut top, wenge neck, ebony board and stainless steel frets).

So, as the Crawler set has as well a lot of differences outputwise, might a Stormy Monday neck and an Abraxas bridge work as well in a brighter LP? Looking for raunchy crunchy bluese tone (Led Zep etc.).

Big Mastodon fan as well, they do like vintage gear as well, bet an Abraxas bridge might do the trick as well there.

Other ideas?

I really dig Les Paul deluxe mini hum or fender wide range type of neck tone. So mule bridge might be fine, but abraxas being a beefed up mule might do exactly what I want. Will the bridge really be even brighter than my crawler in the SG???

I had both the Abraxas and Crawler sets in the same guitar and the Abraxas was definitely brighter.
