So the A-bomb is hereby installed/yet another recommendation

Hello, all. My Monson is newly A-bombed, and I have to say that I am dutifully impressed.  The tone is absolutely vicious, thick, and surprisingly woodsy and warm. Thank you to Yellowjacket for pushing me in the right direction. 

Now, I am now wondering if it is at all common to pair a modern/high output humbucker with a more vintage-voiced humbucker?  The Rebel Yell sounds good in the neck, but I am wondering if something a little more vintage would suit the guitar a little better.

I think the neck & bridge combos are entirely based on the needs of the player.

I love the Rebel Yell neck but a VHII is warmer and more vintage sounding.  And, it has that same hairy characteristic that the A-Bomb does when under loads of gain!

Glad you love the A-Bomb;  It's so vicious and attitudinal.

Thanks! It's funny; a VHII set was recommended to me by Jon way back when I was toying around with upgrading the pickups on this very instrument.  That might be a good option.

I've got a RY bridge paired with a VHII neck for this very reason and am very happy with the combination. I'm not sure, however,  if I'd put the VHll with a NB though - to my mind I just can't imagine them balancing that well.
