Rob, I have my Gibbo Les Paul Std. and to be honest it took forever to find it (a GOOD one). That is enough Gibbo Searching for me for now.
I would def. consider a USA Wolfgang, but then (even after selling the two guitars) I will still have an EB Axis Super Sport (original Wolfgang as it where) so not much difference. It can also give me many many tones (even close to tele) as it has 5 way switching on the humbuckers.
Mainly I play the Axis (either one). But have come to really like the width of the Jackson neck. Which is what this is all about really. Replacing two guitars I love/play the most with one (maybe compromise).
The Ernie Ball JP6 has (it seems thus far) the attributes. Wider neck, yet still gun oiled and unfinished maple. Rosewood fingerboard. Strat shape.
Basically thats why I am thinking of doing this and about that particular guitar.
Owning two Ernie Balls (admittedly they are not too numerous in UK) I have first hand experience with their quality and know full well their reputation (for instance, I wanted one dating once. I got a reply within an hour inc. the shop originally shipped to, try getting Gibson to do that).
I am least happy about it being a "sig" guitar, but oh well. And I can (probably will if end up with one) find one with at least NO Petrucci fretboard inlays.
I started this as there is ALWAYS guitars I have not heard of or thought of, like the Moore's. But upon more research into the Moore, many are Korean (which does NOT fill me with joy) and they are obviously very complex which to me is more than can go wrong. Also, I truly doubt I would use the iGuitar thing to it's true potential. Heck the JP6 is available with piezo anyway if I want. Actually the 3 way switch on the JP6 is a chip, thats enough tech. in a guitar right there lol.
