Hunter those clips are fantastic! And you have just made me decide once and for all that BKP will be getting an order soon for a calibrated set of Black Dogs for my epi LP standard. :D

Done a small clip again. This time I finally used a real amp , the THD UniValve, equipped with Tung-Sol 12AX7, Philipps NOS 12AU7, Tung-Sol 6V6. The Amp doesn't have so much definition with a 6V6, I normally prefer 6550s, but those are too loud at the moment.

Cab is a Laney 4x12 with Celestion Vintage 30s

Sweetened up the Uni with a VOX 847 and a Diamond Drive 1 (without the boost activated).

Still having difficulties to get a sound recorded that's even close to the tone I have in my music room. At the moment I only have a condenser tube mic, which is great for an ambience sound but not so great for the directness and the dynamics. I have ordered a Palmer PDI09, maybe that will - in combination with the condenser - bring me closer to my ideal.

This definitely sounds a lot different than the Tonelab stuff I did earlier in this thread.

For the pickups: This clip shows the good string separation even on the neck with quite some drive as well as the nice harmonics of the Black Dogs, that make it lots of fun going into decent feedbacks.

Sorry for the bad tuning and timing, this was done with focus on tone, not playing.

Great clip!! Lovely tone, the sustain is well cool too! The BD's really have a classic LP sound.

Awesome crunch there! I get a pretty similar sound from my Mules into rat into hrdx actually, just a bit thicker.

Nice clips man. I heard these a while ago when my friend first sent me the link to the site, and I wasn't even thinking of replacing my Les Paul pickups until hearing your clips.

I ended up going with some Rebel Yells, but it was your clips that really sparked my interest in BKP, so that should hopefully give you 2 minutes of satisfaction knowing you helped someone else out ;)

Haha, wow, thanks for the flowers. BKPs rock and I just couldn't stop making clips and clips and clips. Got the same "problem" with my latest gadget (HAO Rust Driver), just can't get enough:)

I'm happy if these clips can contribute to Tim's business, it's anyway not the slightest penny wasted and I'm sure you're enjoying your BKPs as much as I do.

Yep, Vox Tonelab.
I can only agree with hunter. Great piece of gear!! :)
Compared to the pod it's much more vintage oriented.

Indeed, I put in new pots/cabs, but not the switch and cables to/from it. The switch with its cheap cables is something that will have to go.

And I'm considering coil split, probably a very simple one, just a push-pull for outer coils.
