Anyone tried the new EHX Mel 9 pedal?
« on: April 17, 2016, 02:42:18 AM »
I picked one up a few days ago; it's a lot of fun!

I used it on a song in progress idea this morning. All Mellotron sounds are the Mel 9.

I was impressed by their Hammnond pedals. But this is something I'd actually buy. Love those eerie mellotron sounds.

If you are looking to add 'tron sounds live without the use of a synth, this should be on your must-try list!
Like always, when using your guitar as a controller, you will have to adapt your playing, and I strongly recommend using a compressor in front of the Mel 9.

I've got the B9, and I love it.  When they brought out the C9 and then the Key9, I was hoping they'd be able to do something with horns or strings, and this is pretty close to that!  I'll definitely be getting one of these.
