Hello,

Could someone please tell me if the Dean DMT Hands Without Shadows (n) pickup should pair well with with the BKP Aftermath (b)? would volumes be consististant? Stylistic qualities?

Also, i understand that the BKP pots and capacitor are recomended with bkp pickups. Will they be appropriate for the DMT as well?

Interested in putting them in an ibanez mahogany RG.

Specs on the neck pickup i am talking about are here:

Can soneone also answer the same questions about the MAB(n) pickups functionality with a nailbomb(b)? Or a holy diver?

I don't immediately see why it wouldn't work. As for pots, BKP are naturally going to recommend their own pots etc. for their pickups because they have a vested interest in doing so but any pots will work just fine. The only advantage with BKP pots in my experience is if you go with a 550k pot as generally you'd be buying a 500k pot and that extra little bit does seem to open things up more. Those 550k pots are certainly worth it in my view but other than that, I wouldn't be losing much sleep over it.
BKP owned:

Bridge - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; A-Bomb; Holydiver; Miracle Man; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

Neck - Emerald; Cold Sweat; Crawler; Holydiver; Sinner; Trilogy Suite

I used to have MAB neck pickup in my Dean Cadillac paired with Ceramic Nailbomb. Was hoping to achieve the sound from Dean website, unfortunately it was not even close.
To be honest I didn`t like that pickup at all (Batio one), it was dark, muddy, was lacking presence. After a while I changed it to Cold Sweat neck. Huge improvement, although CS sounds quite dark in that guitar as well but waaaay better that Michael Angelo Batio.
Dean Cadillac - Emerald (b), Cold Sweat (n),
Mayones Flame CS2000 - Miracle Man (b), Sinner (m), Aftermath (n)
Warmoth Custom Telecaster - Cold Sweat (b) VHII (n)
Warmoth Custom Tele - Miracle Man set

MAB products only sound good if you are playing a billion notes a minute while wearing a really obvious wig.

What guitar do you want to put Batio pickup into?
I assume that the reason pickup didn`t sound good was the fact that I put it into dark sounding LP style. I didn`t work for me at all. Be careful if your guitar is darker by nature.
Bottom line is, I sold it quickly having bad experience.

Thank you for shari g your experience. I was considering either putting it in a mohohany rg or an explorer. Because of your experience, i will def rule out the explorer. I'll also consider going the basswood route, instead of mohogany. Do you think a nailbomb would work well in the bridge of a basswood rg?

Ty for the info about the pots. I'm sorry but i'm terribly new at this. I'm also working on a strat project. When i look at the page to buy the single coil pups, it's recomending i get a 280 unit pot. Is that something you think i'd need for the strat project or in your opinion is it also avoidable? It's a higher end vintage american reissue strat (production model though, not custom shop) do you think the stock pots for that guitar will suit it PAT Pend '63 pups fine?
