Black Dog in a strat?

Alder body, rosewood board..

Any thoughts on how it would sound in the bridge position?

If it's a medium to bright guitar, yes why not. If it has a big low end with lots of centermids, maybe it's not the best pick. The BD is somehow not an obvious choice in that wood combination. I presume yours is a bolt on?

Yeah it's a bolt-on.

I did a search on the forum about this and there's not much info. Maybe it's not the best combo or not many people had tried it. I did find an anecdote that Tim himself thinks the Black Dog is cool in a strat.

I can see it working in a balanced to brighter bolt on. Should add some beef, yet retain lowoutput PAF-quality.

I currently have a BD in my 2013 Am Std strat. With a maple board and a 250k pot.

I like it better than a single coil in the bridge, but I must admit, to me, it's not the best pickup for that guitar. It lacks some highs and lows.

to me, it seems like the middyness of the BD is overlapping the mids in the strat.
