Choosing pickups for my Kiesel Vader
« on: October 12, 2016, 02:07:21 PM »
Hello all. I'm trying to decide on which BKPs to install into my Kiesel Vader multiscale 6.
I noticed right off that the Kiesel Lithium humbuckers that come stock are too hot for my playing style. I'm getting too much string noise and too much fuzz. They sound good but their not what I'm looking for.
I had a Graph Tech Acousti-phonic kit (piezo system) installed in my old Schecter because I do a lot of finger picking style riffs and it gave a clear, broad, acoustic like tone. So I will also have the kit installed into my Vader along with the 3-way switch (Mag/piezo or blend) The Specs for my Vader are:

Chambered, swamp ash body,
Spalted maple top, satin matte finish
5 piece maple neck with 2 black limba stripes.
Birdseye maple fretboard

I play in drop B tuning.
I'll be running through an Axe-FX II XL+...
Looking for tightness out of the bridge pickup for quick dirty riffs.
I use a guitar pick about 65-75%, fingerpickin and some finger tapping 25-35%..
I'd like clarity of note in the distortions as not all my dirties are pick utilized. Looking for pristine cleans, crystal clear, like a lake of liquid diamond clean. Ha ha.
That said I do like some meaty distortions but I like leaving the Bass guitar its own sound pie slice so uber beef lows are not needed.

Here's a link to some of my songs:
(these guitar parts were tracked with the Schecter Blackjack C-1)

Your input would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.

The song 'Days' in the YouTube link is absolutely amazing

Sounds like a job for Impulses
But something more traditional like riff raffs should work pretty well in that guitar too
