Is it literally a fender strat you're using?

You're doing what i've done before and still do to an extent 'One guitar to do it all' and it's not really possible.  Rammstein, ACDC and AIC are worlds apart in tone and I'm not sure who stop are.

Also depends on what amp you're using but i'd suggest the alnico nail bomb or the holy diver based on the little info you've given....could narrow it down with more info but to try and cover all those bases as best you could thats what id go for....

i asked because i got a Nailbomb, the first day the thing sounded like utter shite.
I tried getting it closer to the strings and utter shite again.

I was about to take it off of my Ultra but i decided to put the pup far away from the strings and Boom, it sounds like the Gods.

For some reason it is very versatile, but it is really height dependent, not like the other pups i have owned, but crazy height dependent.

The guitar sounds great with it now!

TY Guys.

the alnico nailbomb was probably the only bkp I had that sounded best further from the strings
the aftermath couldn't get too close as well
all the others sounded better very close to strings, even the alnico warpig and the ceramic nailbomb

Great advice here. I moved my Cbomb all the way up in my guitar yesterday and it seems I'm starting to like it a lot better (I was fully determined to change it for a Cpig). The palm mutes sounded more thumping and compact than before I think. Anyway, I had only a couple of minutes to try it by myself, then all the band started playing and I stopped noticing such a difference in that context.

glad you tried that
tha c-bomb sounds quite big when set close enough
probably the most balanced sounding contempoary model and has a nice sustaining compression that most other models don't have
I just wish it had some mid hump like a holy diver or something

That's what I miss too, that mid thing I find in some of my other pickups, perfect for palm muting. I'll give it another chance until Christmas playing with the height because I look for that balanced sound but if I don't get 100% happy, I'll order a Warpig. Maybe the compressed nature of the Nailbomb is enhanced by my EVH 5153 and that creates the shrillness-fest I don't like about it. Anyway, I think the Cpigs would fix the too compressed problem of the Cbomb and would also add a lot of low range to my extremely trebblish amp.

well I believe the c-pig should be even more compressed
have you considered something warmer and fatter like a crawler or holy diver?

Holy Diver was in my list, but as I like more extreme kinds of metal I thought the Cpig would be better suited for it. Maybe the compression is not the problem, I correct myself, since I have other highly compressed pups like the EMG81 or the Black Winters which I like a lot. Maybe it's all about the trebble end, dunno.

I would go for an A-Pig

Wouldn't the A-pig be better for less tight styles of metal (I don't specially go for) as Sludge, Post-rock, Doom, and the like?

That might be true.  I have played Celtic Frost (e.g., 'The Usurper') on mine, but nothing more demanding of tightness than that.

Really I think your best bet might be the Miracle Man for the bridge slot, if you like the Holy Diver but want something tighter and with more bottom end and output.

That's the problem, I can only speak for the pickups I already have. The HD was in the final options because of friends' advice so as the C-pigs, but I can't actually tell the difference pretty well among the BK options with their sound clips. I must be nearly deaf. I love my Black Winters, in a different style of sound I also adore my Juggernauts, I like my EMG81, even the CrunchLab I liked it quite a bit. I didn't like the Full Shred or the Blackouts too much, just to say a few in case it helps. I think the MM are quite similar to the Cbomb I already have (in balance of bass/mid/high) so it wouldn't probably fix the trebblish problem with my amp, maybe just its compressed nature, plus, seems not the best option for extreme metal styles.

I have the aesthetic problem of my guitar needing a chrome cover pickup with screws, not with bars like the Impulse or the Blackhawk, which were my first go to in case I didn't get along with the C-bomb as I do. Damn!

Or I rob a bank and buy 4 or 5 BKP models and try them all until I find the one or I think I'm not being able to do this. Maybe just buy a pickup and try to sell it if it doesn't work for me, I don't think they are difficult to re-sell, even though I'm going for a chrome cover. That or just play with the pickup height I already own and bloody GET USED TO IT.

Thanks for your help, mates, but I don't want to trouble you anymore. I'm not going anywhere.
