Ibanez 5 way selector/blackhawks
« on: January 04, 2017, 01:22:22 AM »
I have an iibanez s521 guitar that I intend on putting a set of black hawk humbuckers into. I previously had them in a now deceased RGA42, this was set up with a 3 way selector and a coil tap on the tone control I fitted in place of the switch that come with the RGA42 (which originally came with actives).

I got the S521 as ive always prefered the S series and want to build up a custonm model from this basic guitar. I love the sound of the black hawks in the rga42 and dont expect much difference in the sound. My question is this , has anyone had any experience in setting up the blackhawks with the ibanez 5 way selector ( which has 5 custom settibg starting with

1/ neck humbucking,
2/ both neck coils out of phase
3/ full neck and bridge,
4/  neck and bridge slug coils
5/ bridge obly

Because I suspect I may be better served with the 3 position with coil tap., but wasnt sure if anyone else had tried both.
