Knob compatibility with BKP 500k push-push pot?
« on: January 28, 2017, 08:11:08 AM »
Hi all,

Just wondering if there are any compatible chrome dome knobs (a la Ibanez/superstrat) that I can use with the BKP 500k push-push pot. I currently have some black speed knobs that fit both the 550k vol pot and 500k push-push pot that I use for the tone, but I want to switch them out to change the look.

Also, is it normal for the push-push pot to feel really loose? Or is it just because of the knobs that I use? It turns way too quickly for my liking, and feels very different from the 550k pot that I use for the volume.

Thanks!

Some pots have a split shaft (e.g., for Gibson type knobs), where you adjust the tightness very carefully by spreading or reducing the split.  Others (like Fenders) have a solid shaft with a screw.  Generally if it has a screw you might be able to get it to work with a split shaft by screwing into the split, but you will also need to be careful that the shaft is not spread too far
