Neck pickup for spanky cleans in super-strat
« on: June 25, 2017, 09:00:08 PM »
I'm looking for a neck pickup that would deliever spanky cleans in a 24 fret mahogony-maple mayones duvell.

Bridge will be aftermath. So: cold sweat, vhii or aftermath?
Aftermath (bridge), alnico Black hawk (set), holydiver (set)

It happens that I have all 3 of them, Cold Sweat, Aftermath and VHII.
I would rule out Aftermath for sure as it`s clean is really round and full.
I still haven`t install my VHII (meant to do it this weekend, but never got chance), but I can assure you that CS has great cleans indeed. I still find a good bit of PAF vibe in CS neck.

Dean Cadillac - Emerald (b), Cold Sweat (n),
Mayones Flame CS2000 - Miracle Man (b), Sinner (m), Aftermath (n)
Warmoth Custom Telecaster - Cold Sweat (b) VHII (n)
Warmoth Custom Tele - Miracle Man set

Thanks!  I believe aftermath isn't gonna work for me.

Isn't VHii a little more scooped and bass heavy compared to cold sweat?

Isn't the Juggernaut neck based on the VHII neck?  That might be an option

Good idea, especially if I go with covered pickups.
Which covers/bobbin colours would look the best in my guitar? (Jugg and aftermath)

I've heard black paint likes to flake... What about raw nickel with black bolts?

Edit: I meant brushed nickel

Yeah that would kind of be the negative version of what I suggested.

Go to the new BKP site and try out the new 'Pickup Builder' to see the combinations for yourself.

It only shows chrome and black battleworn though.  I think raw nickel battleworn would be a special order.

Maybe brushed nickel without battleworn with black hex screws... Looks pretty neat.

Spanky cleans......how about the Riff Raff. I had a Painkiller bridge with a Riff Raff neck and they were actually a match.
