I totally agree, Aftermath is what you`re looking for if you want more modern sounding neck pickup. I have one and really enjoy it for more 'metal' oriented playing.
But... if your guitar is warm sounding already I would suggest Juggernaut neck, it has more presence and a bit more bite than AM neck.

a schecter km7 its a swamp ash body and stainless frets so its a fairly bright guitar

i play metal stuff like Sylosis

Aftermath then for sure. Recently I started enjoying AM better for fast 'metal' oriented solos a bit better than my Cold Sweat neck in other guitar. Cold Sweat has more PAF vibe, Aftermath is way more modern.
