Bare Knuckle Juggernaut Bridge for Death Metal Content
« on: September 22, 2017, 07:38:20 PM »
So, I've been a huge fan of Ole Borud as a songwriter.  His new band just released a full length and they were saying that they used a juggernaut bridge equipped guitar for this track:

Here is an example of it being used for something which is not Djent.  Enjoy!!

Spotify is terrible....  I just use the web player in my PC.  At least until I can buy the album.

Nice riffs! Tone is also pretty good, but I'd still prefer it a little less "muddy" in low mids.
Aftermath (bridge), alnico Black hawk (set), holydiver (set)

Very nice sound, the Juggs are versastile indeed, I use them to cover bands like Beyond Creation or Obscura and they kill though you cannot get that surgical sound from Necrophagist (unless you combine it with a very trebble oriented amp as I do). The Painkiller would maybe be better for that particular chainsaw tone, but I'm very happy with my juggs and Death metal and Prog are my favourite styles. Warpigs also serve me well here.

I find the low mid thing is as much the guitar's acoustic tone and the amp's voicing as it is the pickups.  For my money, Channel 3 on a ReVv Generator 120 is fantastic for taking a 7 string guitar with a phat pickup.  It nicely shovels off those round, bloated frequencies.  The rest of that album has a more focused tone, probably due to the higher tuned / 6 string guitars.

Ya.  Amplifier is important too.  But I love how the Juggs do so many things extremely well.
