Replacements for a Strandberg Boden OS7L
« on: October 18, 2017, 07:35:13 PM »
Hey all. So, I'm looking to replace the Lace Alumitones in my Strandberg Boden OS7L, which are a little weak to my ears. I was looking to get some recommendations and advice.

First: my favorite sounding guitar to date is the Ibanez JEM7VWH. I read that the Painkiller or Miracleman BKPs are pretty comparable to the Evos in the JEM. I'm not necessarily looking to duplicate the sound, but something hot and mid-heavy in a chambered swamp ash body would be excellent.

Second: I've never replaced pickups before, though I have some soldering experience. Does anyone know if the OS7L already has a bridge ground wire routed, or is that something I'd need to do? Skill-wise I think it'd be fine, but it's a little more intimidating.

Third: Would you recommend replacing the volume/tone pots and the pickup selector at the same time?

That's all. Thanks, would appreciate the recommendations/advice!
