Hum cancelling mid SC with stock polarity.

Hi guys,
just need to know whether RW/RP mid SC is necessary for hum cancelling or it can be achieved also with STOCK mid SC by some changes in wiring diagram.

Fairly certain the answer is NO you can't achieve it with a middle pickup that has the coil wound in the same direction and the magnets installed in the same orientation as the bridge and neck pickups (a "stock" middle).

I'm not sure how/why it works, but think of a RW/RP (Reverse Wound / Reverse Polarity) middle pickup as a middle pickup that has been built "upside down" in relation to the other two pickups.

I don't think you're going to be able imitate that physical re-orientation using a conventionally installed "stock" pickup and some changes in the supporting wiring.

If it can be done, I'd love to know how... so that I can get reverse the RW/RP effect in one of my strat sets!!!

So it looks like polarity has nothing to do with switching pickup into opposite direction. Then I will have to buy RWRP instead. Thanks.
