TIM; Are there going to be more Samples of the Pickups ???
« on: April 05, 2005, 09:28:36 PM »
Hi Tim.

I'm just wondering if you're going to get some sound-samples of all of the Bare Knuckles pickup range on the site. I regularly check for samples of the Warpig and Nailbomb pickups but it just keeps saying that they haven't been downloaded yet.

What's the score? It would be nice to be able to get a rough idea of the sounds of all of the pickups in tha same guitar or something so you could compare them against each other.

Thanks.           JTM45.

Hopefully, there will be enough users with these pups making clips/recordings and letting the folks on this forum know, where the clips won't be such an issue any longer. :)

Having listened to your killer clips posted at the Duncan board, I assume that your BK samples will convince so many people about Bare Knuckle Pups that Tim could offer you free sets just in return for the increase in sales, LOL! :D  :D  :D

The biggest problem with the sound clips is time-I know that sounds like a lame excuse but we have so many orders here and that coupled with the 150+ emails and all the paperwork means I regularly am putting in a 14hr day. My first priority has always been getting the pickups sounding the best possible and servicing our customers orders-at the same time, never compromising on quality.
However having said that I'm going to record clean/dirty samples of Warpig, Nailbomb, Mule, Apache, Irish Tour, The Boss and Brown Sugar in the next 2 weeks. Just doing that is going to take up 2 days and it only just scratches the surface-but it's a start :) .
Actually Geoff Whitehorn has supplied the first clips which are loaded on the Crawler page-they sound great too 8) !!
Something else I'm intending to do is sort out an area in the forum where users can post their own clips of their BKPs. I think this would be great as the variety of guitar/amp/pickup combinations will be huge plus some of the less used tone-parallel, in/out of phase etc would get an airing too.

Anyway, bottle line is I'm on it! :D

I must admit I'm really pleased with the way the forum is shaping up and feel it's a really positive contribution to the site as well as being really good to see how's doing what.

Soon as we have a place to post them here I'll put up samples of the NWOBHM Strat pickups and the VH2's when they're in...And I promise not to install them myself Tim.

I thought that what the "Players" forum was about ... :)
As soon as I have some pups to use, clips will soon follow!!

I usually post my clips to SOUNDCLICK, and then just post a link to them on the forum, like so ... http://www.soundclick.com/bands/0/twilightodysseymusic.htm

I can modify the forum so that it is able to take attachments which should achieve the desired results?

Let's get it sorted so we can post clips up in the Players section ASAP-my understanding is that the forum will go off line for a few hours but I think it'll be worth it.
I know what I can do with my pickups and have really enjoyed the clips customers have mailed me-it'd be great to have them in the forum so we can see who does what with them. I've tried out pretty much most variations/combinations but not everyone by a long way and as you've seen I use Marshalls for the bench testing-not just because I like them but also as they're a great bench mark-so it'd be great to hear different amps/axes in action as well as everyone ripping it up 8) .
Bring it on web dude :D !
