The late '00s early '10s SGs with the 498T seem to be 53mm

Yes long legs with large pickguard SGs otherwise the pickups won't adjust properly

There's only one spacing for the neck, that's why they don't ask (it's 50mm)

Thx a lot Dave  :afro:

When I ordered the set of Cold Sweat I had the bad idea to go listen to the samples of the Aftermath.
And here I am again to doubt and I did not order !

Looking at the technical specifications of each set, I get the impression that the Aftermath is more like the voice of an SG.
Focus Mids and Bass mastered to respond to mahogany.
Treble less accented and therefore better coordinated to a SG

Aftermath or Cold Sweat ?

Thanks again to all, and forgive me for this backtracking.

You could try the Aftermath, but I suspect that you will be disappointed.

The guitar would end up sounding quite nasal I would think.  Mids piled on mids.

The Aftermath has a screechy attack, you have to like that.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

Your analyzes are relevant.

I really like this grumpy/screechy tone.
Very Punk for my taste, between a typical tone Telecaster and the output level of a high-gain humbucker.

I'm really scared of being wrong, and it's true that the risk is stacking mediums.
But I would like to avoid a microphone too high and too serious.
And I'm afraid the Cold Sweat is too charged in highs.

A prediction on the result of the ColdSweat vs. AfterMatth match on a full mahogany SG ?
The goal is to sound like "BodyCount", like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuag9wcGYI0
Like "BioHazard", like "BadBrains"...

Anyone for the guitar rig of Biohazard ?

My advice is to buy one of them and try it.

Settings on your amp make as big a difference as anything else.

You're absolutely right Dave, it's time to make a decision.
I will roll a die to choose because it is impossible for me to make a choice :embarrassed:

ThX All & Happy New Year.

The alnico nailbomb kinda sits between the aftermath and cold sweat
It's aggressive and abrasive in the middle like the aftermath, but thick in the bass like the cold sweat
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

You further complicate the equation Bro'  :afro:
It's really not easy to make the right choice, you know...

Thx Eric & Happy New Year !

N.B. : Eric, did you set the Black Dog set on which guitar ?
