My first guess was the VHII.

Out of pickups I have actually played, my first choice was the Cold Sweat.

Yes you are absolutely right.
But I evolved in the meantime and I chose to dedicate this guitar to a specific style allowing me to cover only but retains the tones of BodyCount and other PunkHardcore bands.

It remains to choose the right set, but quickly because I must imperatively place my order before Christmas  :afro:

Thank you all again and Merry Christmas !

I have a Cold Sweat neck pickup and a Miracle Man bridge, which is a popular combination, but I've seen good reviews of the Miracle Man set here as well.

Dave, I'm going to need your knowledge again.
Could you tell me the value of tone and volume pots mounted on your SG with the MM / CS set?

ThX & Merry Christmas !

I think my choice will stop on a Cold Sweat Set.

First of all, I think I like the ryhmic parts of the Miracle Man and the Cold Sweat.
They both meet my expectations.

And then, reading you again, I realize that many users associate a Miracle Man Bridge with a Cold Sweat Neck.
The Neck of the Cold Sweat is therefore superior to the Neck of the Miracle Man.

As I have both the Bridge Miracle Man and the Cold Sweat, the choice of calibrated set seems wise.

BareKnuckle's R & D is making great efforts to calibrate sets, so make the most of them !

What's fun is that in the end, it was by choosing the Neck that I got to determine the right Set  :afro:!

And of course thanks to your help everyone

Moreover, if my choice suggests comments from you, I'll be happy to read them !

Thanks again to everyone !

My advice is to stick with the standard pots at first and see how you like them.  If you want to brighten the sound you can do that by increasing the pot values to 500K

Hard to go wrong with the Cold Sweat set in a mahogany guitar

Christmas here already in Australia.

Have a good one

The volume pots are most likely 300K

Tone pots might be 500K

I did, but then I reverted to a standard Gibson harness because the 500K '50s wired harness was too bright

My advice is to fit the pickups and if you think it is too dark change the pots then.  You might find that they sound great with what's already in there.  The conventional wisdom isn't always what's best for you.

It's a very good idea Dave !
Let's try and see  :afro:

53 mm spaced Bridge and 50 mm spaced Neck ?
Right ?

Yes 53mm long legs chrome covers for that model

For strings it depends on the tuning.

In standard EADGBE tuning I always use Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky 9-46

In DGCFAD I use Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom 10-52

In CFA#D#GC I use D'Addario EXL117 11-56 (with a wound 3rd [D'Addario NW19] if topwrapping the strings)

I like the strings fairly light though, others would use heavier.
