6000 frets and scalloped fingerboard
« on: April 12, 2006, 12:15:50 PM »
I would just like to say thanks to Jonathan at Feline for rescuing my flame maple/ebony neck and turning it into the most amazing neck I have played.  I have avoided big frets as I have a lot of older guitars and like to leave the frets the original size.  I have used 6105 for some but that is the biggest.

Also I was always worried that my heavy handed blues playing would bend the notes too much on a scalloped fingerboard.  However, this neck had a back bow and so when I tried Tim's Morgan LP with the big frets and half scalloped fingerboard, I spoke with Jonathan and decided to have him do the same to my strat neck.

The results are amazing (and the standard of fretwork is incredible).  It is really easy to play and the scalloped area does not go out of tune, it is just faster than the regular area!

I have to thank Jonathan for this, and just so you know how much I like it, I am going to get another done the same way!  I will be sorting it out at LGS.   The guitar is a Warmoth strat with Nailbomb/Trilogies in HSS config.  I will be changing the Nailbomb for the new 16k Holy Diver and then setting up  a HSH with the Nailbomb set and Irish Tour along with the new Feline neck.
So many pickups, so little time
