Charvel HS HT Holydiver Cobra
« on: March 10, 2018, 07:23:32 AM »
I have a Charvel with a humbucker bridge and a single coil neck route and was going to try a Holydiver in the bridge and a Cobra in the neck. Is a 500k volume pot going to work with the Cobra?

Yes it will work. The higher the volume pot value, the brighter the tone. Since it is a very hot pickup in the neck, it should sound fine. If it is too bright for your taste, you can run a resistor in parallel to have 250kfor the Cobra. When I wired up a Super Strat with a Holy Diver in the bridge and an Irish Tour in the neck, I just used a 500k pot for both, and the Irish Tour sounds good with the 500k volume pot.

In my HSS-strat I run my Crawler with 500k and the Irish Tours with 250k. For me that works best.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try it out and keep in mind the parallel resistor option.
