Pickups for an 88 USA Standard Strat
« on: March 10, 2018, 07:48:13 PM »
Hi Guys
I have an original 1988 USA Standard Strat but I have lost the pickups.

The original pickups have flush pole pieces but my question is what effect if any would fitting pickups with staggered pole have.

Thanks

Maybe a tad enhanced mids, but not anything that will be too prominent in comparison to flat polepieces. I guess the radius is 9.5 on your guitar?

Yeah it's all about the fretboard radius.

Rounder radius needs the staggered poles

Thanks guys
I am pleased to say I have now found the original flush pickups that I will fit.

Now I know fitting staggered won't throw up any serious problems
that's another option for me to try.
