Reverend Double Agent - VHII?

New to the forum, I searched a little bit for Reverend guitars and VHII and didn't find anything.
Just got a Reverend Double Agent, and I kind of like the bridge humbucker, BUT I have a VHII I got for another guitar I no longer have. The reverend is Korina with a maple neck, pretty resonant. Any ideas if this would be a good match? I loved the Steve Stevens demo of it, but not sure if the wood in the Reverend is a good match. I have a Splawn Quickrod by the way.
Right now the humbucker sounds pretty good, similar to my LP with WCR Godwood with a little less midrange and a little less output to my ears. I'm a PAF/hot PAF guy... Should I put the VHII in it or go with what's in there right now?

I would give it a try. Korina is close to mahogany, maybe a tad brighter. I have a VHII in an ash bolt on Fender HSS, so korina should handle a VHII. You know the VHII-specs, so I guess you're aware what kinds of tones you can expect.

thanks for the info - how are the tones on your strat? I listened to a couple comparison videos to the Black Dog and didn't hear a huge amount of difference, more brightness mostly. I'm aware of the specs, but not with different woods etc.

Good amount of bass, sufficient mids and a clear topend, but not harsh. The VHII is very focused (direct) and noncompressed, so the pickattack makes a lot of difference. When you dig in it screams. Great hardrockpickup with easy to obtain pinched harmonics. A complete different animal than the Crawler in my swampashstrat, which is mellower, thicker and more compressed. I guess the VHII will sound bigger in a korina body, although the Reverend is bolt on and the neckwood has a big influence on the tone. So maybe a bit bigger than my ash maple neck/rosewood board Fender.

Keeo us informed. Btw, I like Reverends. The basscontour is a nice addition. Too bad there's no dealer in Holland.
