Upgrading pots!
« on: April 18, 2006, 12:05:59 AM »
Hey guys!

Just curious about the stock pots on my Ibanez SZ.....are they worth upgrading? I have no idea what they are.....it's a double humbucker guitar, with a SD JB in the bridge, which will more than likely be soon replaced my a PRS Tremonti!

So, as I'm going to be doing some soldering for the pups, I was thinking it might be worth upgrading the pots too.....I'm pretty sure it's relatively inexpensive.

So, how much would it cost and would you recommend it? Where would I go about getting the upgraded pots from?

I would recommend replacing your pots and switch and output also. The afr eastern hardware in your guitar is not that great, although it probably works fine as is.

You'll probably need 500K pots to go with your humbuckers. Tim stocks the CTS pots, capacitors and switchcraft switch and jack you'll need for very reasonable prices. See the BKP web store for pricing info.

Thing is he is talking about a PRS Humbucker and lives in Arizona.

Sounds like here.  Joke:  My friend's wife left him the other day. Poor bugger had to watch her walking away for 5 days.
