VOX with Les Paul
« on: March 19, 2019, 01:49:44 PM »
Hi chaps, I'm new here so go easy, please! I have a Vox AC15 (with blue speaker) and a Les Paul Studio 2012 with coil tapping. I have 2 million boutique pedals with an obscene amount of knobs to twiddle. Of note is an OCD v1.4 and a 1978 op-amp Big Muff. The guitar sings and screams but I have always felt the pickups could be "better". I like to run a clean tone with a little compression, when needed add a little crunch with the OCD then make it scream with the fuzz. I was thinking of replacing the pickups (490 and 498 I think) with the PG Blues. I'd like to make is sing sweetly at all stages - not just the driven. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

If you like A2-magnets the PG Blues and the Stormy Monday is the way to go, at least in BKP-land. Great cleans for sure. I would not rule out the Mule too.  Sweet crispy tones a plenty.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
