Hi!

I just got a new guitar and I’m not that happy with the stock pickups so… I’m in the “BKP market” for a new set.

Mahogany bodied. D Standard tuned.

Which set would you recommend as my backup to my Warping/Nailbomb loaded "#1”?

I think I would like to get an “alternative tonal range”, something more versatile, so I’m not planing on getting the exact same exact Warping/Nailbomb set.

I would say that if the Warping is the "most extreme pickup" of the BKP range, in theory, I would be happy with the "3rd extremest".

I was thinking something not as "hot". I'm turning more and more away from the "low-end stoner/doomy stuff" and more and more into that "higher ripping punk-hardcore riffage" and not using so much gain on the amp. And I keep lowering the volume knob on my guitar... I must take this as a "sign". Maybe the Warpig is "too much".

The amp I'm using is pretty "high gainy" so... Looking for something that can be more "easily tamed"...

Maybe this time I will go for something more on the  “punk-ish/lo-fi alt indie side of things" as an alternative to my previously existing Warpig/Naibomb that I would call "Heavy/Doomy" set.

I really don’t know. I want "an alternative”, something slightly different to what I already have but, stil, able to be used as a “live backup”, if needed, without losing the Warpig/Nailbomb set's "grit and aggression"…

Something different but still not "too different". That will widen my range of “options”. Hmmm… I don’t know how to put it, really… Something still “nice” for the “genre" but also a “bit different"! :)

Please let me know your thoughts and ideas on this. All suggestions are really much welcomed.

Thanks in advance!

Greetings to everyone!

Alnico pig or ceramic pig?

I was gonna say nailbomb, but they actually feel hotter than the warpigs

What are the guitars model, neck woods and construction?

Hi! Thanks for the reply.

It's a big chunk of mahogany!! Jazzmaster. Bolt-on neck with maple fingerboard.

And my "#1"'s Warpig is alnico.

Thanks everyone!

Alnico nailbomb should sound good, but it surely has a lot of "grit and aggression"
Tonally different from the alnico pig, but I'd say it sounds hotter, although it's not as compressed as the warpig

Holy diver if you want more midrange and less edge

Rebel yell if you want both mids and edge
